Director of Operations - Ann Hamilton

Ann Roe Hamilton passed away on September 13, 2005 at KU Medical Center awaiting a liver transplant.

Ann was born on August 30, 1944 in Oak Grove, MO, the daughter of Clifton and Minnie (Burns) Roe. They moved to Colorado in 1946. There she graduated from Rocky Ford High School in 1962.

She married Lawrence M. Hamilton (HNGS President and Editor of "The Connector") on August 4, 1963 in Rocky Ford. They lived there till 1967 when they moved to Wichita, Kansas. They moved to Oak Grove in 1972 and raised their 4 children.

Ann served as "Director of Operations" for Hamilton National Genealogical Society since 1989, and her services will be sorely missed.

Ann worked many jobs until she found her place at Sutherland Lumber Co., where she worked for 16 years, until her retirement in May of this year. There she made several of the best friends ever.

Ann is survived by her husband of 42 years, Larry; a son Larry Hamilton Jr. (HNGS Webmaster) and wife Jill of Vicksburg, MI; a son Robert Hamilton and wife Sparky (Slusher) of Oak Grove; a son Kent Hamilton and wife Shanin (Dyke) of Lone Jack; and a daughter Vivian Hamilton of Oak Grove; 8 grandchildren, David and Zachary of MI; Ashlee, Steven, and Olivia of Oak Grove; Patrick, Devin and Brenna of Lone Jack; a brother Clyde Roe and wife Julie Yang of Bridgeton (St. Louis), MO; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and dear friends.

Services will be Saturday, September 15, 5:00p.m. at the Oak Grove United Methodist Church. Flowers may be sent to the church. Memorial contributions may be sent in care of the church organ fund, American Diabetes Association, or the American Liver Foundation.
