Serving surnames of HAMELTON, HAMLETON, HAMBLETON, HAMBELTON, HAMELDON, HAMILDON, HAMILTON, HOMILDON, HAMELDUNE, HAMYLTON since 1978.

Members around the world.

We invite your membership in the Hamilton National Genealogical Society, Inc.

We were Chartered 29 September 1978 in West Virginia, and printed our first issue of "THE CONNECTOR" in March 1979, publishing monthly since that time, until November 2003. We published quarterly issues until Spring, 2006, and distribute them via links in the members area. All back issues and annual indexes are available for sale. As time permits, back issues will be added to the members area.

We have had offices in (1978-1980) P.O. Box 6386, Charleston, WV, and (1980-1989) 14326 Blackmon Drive, Rockville, MD, till moving to 215 SW 20th Terrace, Oak Grove, MO 64075 on 1 April 1989. In June, 2006, we transferred to Vicksburg, MI. Our archives were scanned to electronic format for posting online, and the hard copies were placed in the West Virginia State Archives in July.

Our officers are from across the United States, with Larry Hamilton, Jr as Webmaster and Director of Operations. The late Larry Hamilton, Sr. of Oak Grove, Missouri is President, and former Editor. Past President is Clay Hamilton, of Rockville, MD.

We are tax exempt according to Internal Revenue Service, Section 501(c)(3), thereby making all donations, bequests, legacies, etc., tax deductible.

We have available to our members, information in the form of copies of all spellings Hamilton / Hambleton materials from county histories, birth - marriage - death - land - Bible, and other records, many census indices and actual readings of the census, many books on the Hamilton surname, and a card (manual) file of information on families submitted by the members.

The card file, which has been computerized, is actually two files, as one is maintained strictly for the Hamilton/Hambleton (all spellings - over 21,000 names) family, and another for Allied Families, which is any collateral line, or lines you wish to contribute. All records and files are in the process of computerization, which should benefit all. We are working on getting our readings of census and other records onto our web site in the members-only section.

Your membership begins with the date on your check, or calendar year if requested.

As a member, you are entitled to unlimited FREE queries, request information from the files, and time permitting, we will attempt to help you make a "CONNECTION," by searching books, etc., in our files, as requested. This is strictly a volunteer society, with all records, files, and memberships maintained by the "Director of Operations."

You will be requested to send a "Pedigree Chart," and a "Family Unit Chart" for everyone listed on your pedigree, showing as much information as possible on children and spouses. GEDCOM submissions of your Hamilton line and related families are requested. This information will be used to help you "make a connection."
